Gone are the days when films and TV were the only mediums for actors to showcase their talent and earn recognition. The growth of the digital space in the country has not only given more entertainment avenues to the audience, but also more opportunities and honours to talented artistes. In a latest instance, actor Amol Parashar, who shot to instant fame and adulation for his portrayal of Chitvan Sharma in the web series, TVF Tripling, has won the Best Actor Award (Comedy) for his performance in TVF Tripling Season 2. The honour has been conferred to him by News18.com’s iReel Awards 2019, which honours the best in the world of web shows.
When contacted, Amol couldn’t contain his excitement. He said, “I am very happy and excited to have received the Best Actor (comedy) award from iReel. It is a prestigious award and I was nominated with some very fine actors. This show and this character has given me a lot, and this award is a cherry on that cake. Kudos to the writers for creating this character and TVF for trusting me with this crazy role. It is also my first award for screen acting, so it is very special, indeed. This encourages me to keep working hard and be part of characters and stories that touch the audience in bigger and bigger ways.
Since Tripling, Amol has gone onto work in multiple successful web shows cementing his place as one of the most versatile and popular young actors in the country. He will next be seen on the big screen in Balaji Motion Pictures’ film, Dolly Kitty Aur Chamakte Sitare. Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, the film features Amol opposite acclaimed actress Konkona Sensharma.
